To start off, I highly recommend that you read and print Walgreens coupon policy. Most cashiers, as you will find, are not even aware of the coupon policies. To be quite honest, I hate shopping at Walgreens most of the time because there are many cashiers whom decide they will "make-up" their own policies. Store managers have the right to limit the items you buy. It is in the Walgreens Coupon Policy. If your Register Reward Catalina does not print out after your receipt, please notify the cashier immediately.
- The ones that are in the weekly ad are usually called "ICV’s" or "Instant Value Coupons." I usually just refer to them as in-ad coupons in my matchups.
- There are also coupons in the "monthly coupon book." You can stack these with other manufacturer coupons as well.
- Then there are "Register Rewards," which are catalina's that print after your receipt and are often referred to as "RR's" and these are basically money off your next purchase.
There a few things to learn about Register Rewards:
- There are exclusions on each individual Register Reward.
- Only one register reward will print per different item in a transaction. For example, if you buy 3 tubes of toothpaste that are eligible for a RR, only 1 RR will print per transaction. Therefore, you have to do separate transactions to get three RR's in that case.
- Remember that RR's won't "roll" for the exact same item or the same manufacturer. For example, if you buy 3 tubes of toothpaste, you can't buy 1 tube of toothpaste and get a RR for that and then use it on another transaction to buy the same tube of toothpaste or a RR will not print out.
- Register Rewards will not be adjusted. Therefore, if you have a Register Reward but the items you're buying are less than the RR, you can grab inexpensive items often called "fillers."
- A Register Reward is used as a coupon.
- Items purchased have to equal the amount of coupons used. For example, if you're going to buy 5 things, you'll have to have 5 coupons (RR's, coupons, ICV's, etc.).
- Register Rewards typically have a two week expiration date.
Here is an example of a deal idea:
Gillette Fusion MVP Manual or Power Razor System, $8.99
Gillette Fusion MVP Manual or Power Razor System, $8.99
Use $3/1 Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor from P&G 4/3
Pay $5.99, Receive $6 RR
Final Price: FREE after coupon and RR
Pay $5.99, Receive $6 RR
Final Price: FREE after coupon and RR
For this deal, the razor would cost $8.99 – $3 coupon = $5.99 plus tax as your OOP (out of pocket expense). Then your $6 Register Reward will print after your receipt prints. You can use this RR on your next transaction. But you can't purchase another razor and use the same RR and get another $6 RR.
Happy Shopping at Walgreens! As always, if you have any questions please email me to thehotcouponmomatyahoodotcom.
